Job description

The Staff Accountant, as part of the Finance/Accounting team, is responsible for weekly balancing of Practice Management ("PM") collection data to expected or actual bank deposits, recording journal entries to the accounting general ledger, and bank reconciliations for corporate and practice accounts.

Measures of Success:

Provides support and assistance with reconciliation and reporting to partner practices and corporate management in a timely and effective manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Download bank, PM system, and merchant processor data weekly
  • Reconcile practice collections and deposits weekly and maintain Practice Receipts Balance Workbook ("PM Recon")
  • Timely and effectively communicate variances through proper channels
  • Assist reconciliation and billing team with ad-hoc reporting
  • Reconcile NetSuite cash clearing account (utilizing "PM Recon")
  • Record journal entries in NetSuite general ledger
  • Assist with external audits
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Support Accounting Manager in ad-hoc duties, as needed

General:

  • Intermediate understanding of Excel
  • Answers telephone and email messages by end of business day
  • Keeps thorough audit records
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance - preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in a similar role; and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
