As a Senior Research Content Strategist, you will operate at the intersection of research, journalism, consulting, and content strategy to build a high-quality thought leadership engine. You will identify emerging topics, conduct deep research, develop original perspectives, and produce premium long-form content that drives authority, engagement, and growth. This role is ideal for someone who combines exceptional writing ability with intellectual curiosity, strong editorial judgment, and he ability to build scalable systems for research-driven content production.

Your success as a Senior Research Content Strategist will be defined by your ability to create differentiated, high-quality research content that establishes intellectual authority and drives meaningful audience engagement.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Research & Editorial Strategy

  • Identify emerging trends, industries, and high-impact topics on a consistent basis.
  • Develop and maintain a structured editorial calendar aligned with business priorities.
  • Prioritize research themes based on audience relevance, strategic value, and growth potential.

Deep Research & Insight Generation

  • Conduct primary and secondary research across markets, industries, and competitive landscapes.
  • Analyze trends, synthesize information, and form original perspectives and theses.
  • Translate complex ideas into clear, compelling, and structured narratives.

Premium Content Creation

  • Write high-quality long-form reports, research memos, newsletters, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Convert research insights into distribution-ready assets, including presentations and supporting content formats.
  • Maintain consistently high editorial standards, clarity, and narrative quality across all outputs. 

Growth Through Content

  • Use research-driven content to strengthen audience engagement and brand authority.
  • Identify high-performing content formats and iterate based on audience response and performance.
  • Support the development of scalable content systems that enable consistent premium output.

Process Building & AI Enablement

  • Build workflows for research, drafting, editing, and publishing.
  • Leverage AI tools to improve research quality, accelerate production, and increase publishing velocity.
  • Continuously optimize processes to scale high-quality content creation without sacrificing depth or rigor.

Colleagues

You will work closely with founding leadership, product, marketing, and AI/research teams, contributing directly to the company’s positioning, authority, and long-term growth strategy. 

At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from your Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Experience: 4–8 years of experience in research, consulting, journalism, editorial strategy, analyst roles, or related fields, with demonstrated success producing high-quality long-form content or thought leadership. 
  • Writing & Editorial Excellence: Exceptional writing ability with strong narrative structure, editorial judgment, and attention to detail across long-form and research-driven formats.
  • Research & Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to conduct deep research, synthesize information, identify patterns, and form original perspectives from complex information.
  • Thought Leadership & Content Strategy: Experience developing premium content that drives authority, engagement, and audience trust rather than high-volume or SEO-only output.
  • Systems & Process Building: Ability to create scalable workflows for research, drafting, editing, and publishing while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • AI & Research Tool Fluency: Familiarity with AI tools and workflows that support research, synthesis, drafting, or publishing processes.
  • Working Style & Mindset: Highly autonomous, intellectually curious, resourceful, and comfortable operating in fast-moving environments without rigid structure.

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 3.5 weeks with us.
