Roles & Responsibilities

  • 3-5 years of experience in SMT manufacturing environment (electronics or lighting industry preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and project management
  • Ability to interact with senior levels and lead cross-functional teams

Requirements:

  • Monitor and control SMT production processes (Printing, Pick & Place, Reflow) and optimize machine parameters for best yield and minimum defects
  • Lead root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys; drive continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) and support NPI and process validation
  • Collaborate with Quality and Maintenance teams to reduce defects, ensure machine performance, preventive maintenance plans, and proper utilization of SMT equipment and manpower; develop/update Work Instructions and SOPs
  • Lead improvement projects, transfer new products/processes to the Production Unit, and enable fast NPIs and stable, resilient production

More about the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as Process Development – SMT Manufacturing Engineer in Egypt with Signify.

Responsible for optimizing and controlling SMT production processes to ensure high efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness, while supporting new product introduction (NPI) and continuous improvement initiatives.

  •  This role is responsible for improving products, processes and machinery of the Production Unit (PU) in safety, yields,
  • Monitor and control SMT production processes (Printing, Pick & Place, Reflow).
  • Optimize machine parameters for best yield and minimum defects.
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues and reduce downtime.
  • Lead root cause analysis using tools like 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys.
  • Work closely with Quality team to reduce defects.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and process validation.
  • Define and update Work Instructions & SOPs.
  • Drive continuous improvement (Lean / Six Sigma initiatives).
  • Coordinate with maintenance for machine performance and preventive plans.
  • Ensure proper utilization of SMT machines and manpower.
  • efficiency, quality and reliability performance, ensuring stable production.
  •  Creates required conditions to win in the marketplace through fast and efficient NPIs (time to market), and highly efficient.
  •  Develops standards supporting lean manufacturing and waste reduction.
  •  Acts as project leader for improvement initiatives (production, documentation).
  •  Creates technical conditions such that the production process does not get disrupted and it is more resilient.
  •  Implements of new products and processes including through transfer of technical aspects in the PU.
  •  Contributes to team at startup in production through technical support and guidance.
  •  Takes improvement actions to reach target performance
