Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for leading core accounting operations, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The Accounting Manager will help oversee the monthly close process, review and approve key accounting workstreams, partner cross-functionally to solve complex accounting issues, and help scale processes that support both operational needs and external reporting requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong U.S. GAAP and SOX knowledge, a hands-on leadership style, sound judgment, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
What You Will Do As An Accounting Manager
Help lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities for assigned areas, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of financial results.
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet support, and flux analyses prepared by team members, and provide clear coaching and feedback.
Own and enhance accounting processes and internal controls for assigned areas, including identifying opportunities to automate, standardize, and scale procedures.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve accounting issues, evaluate business transactions, and ensure appropriate accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP and company policy.
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management reporting, including variance analysis and explanations for key business and financial trends.
Support external and internal audits by coordinating deliverables, responding to inquiries, and ensuring audit-ready documentation is complete and timely.
Help manage SOX compliance for assigned processes, including control design, execution, documentation, remediation, and coordination with control owners and auditors.
Lead, develop, and mentor accounting staff by setting expectations, reviewing work, building technical capability, and supporting career growth.
Drive special projects and process improvements, including system enhancements, policy updates, and implementation of new tools or workflows.
What You Will Bring As An Accounting Manager
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
8+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment, including experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Prior experience in a lead, supervisor, or manager-level accounting role, including reviewing work and guiding other team members.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance requirements.
Experience partnering with internal and external auditors and supporting quarterly and annual audit processes.
Understands and works on complex issues that have mid-term (12+ months) or broader cross-functional implications
Demonstrated ability to proactively evaluate complex accounting matters, exercise sound judgment, and determine practical solutions in changing environments while working autonomously.
Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to ambiguous assignments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex information into clear conclusions and actions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across accounting, finance, and business teams.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high standard of accuracy.
Systems proficiency in ERP and close-management/reporting tools; NetSuite and FloQast experience preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel; PowerPoint and Word proficiency required.
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, virtual environment requiring self-motivation, accountability, and adaptability.
