Roles & Responsibilities

  • Expertise in quality assurance and quality control processes, including ethical sourcing requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Australia's product safety regulatory framework (ACL) and mandatory/industry standards; familiarity with art supplies, toys, and infant products.
  • Knowledge of US and EU product safety standards and consumer laws; ability to apply standards to products and develop labeling/packaging.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and product development, including product testing processes.

Requirements:

  • Ensure products, suppliers, and processes meet regulatory, ethical, and company standards; manage end-to-end product compliance across the lifecycle (supplier onboarding, product safety, labeling, and documentation).
  • Establish and oversee product compliance/quality control policies for all own-branded ranges and ethical sourcing policies for suppliers and supply chains.
  • Arrange and oversee product testing and assessment; review samples and packaging during development and final production to ensure compliance; advise on compliant packaging and labeling.
  • Collaborate with product development/design teams to ensure products meet destination market requirements and applicable standards.

Work Schedule: 9:00 AM-6:00 PM (AEST) | 7:00 AM-4:00 PM (PH Time)

Standalone Compliance Officer supporting the retail buying function, ensuring all products, suppliers, and processes meet regulatory, ethical, and company standards. Responsible for end-to-end compliance across the product lifecycle, including supplier onboarding, product safety, labelling, and documentation.

What You’ll Do
You’ll be the kind of person who:
  • Ensure that the wide range of products supplied by the company are safe, of good quality and comply with all applicable mandatory and industry product standards.
  • Work as part of our product development and design teams to ensure all product complies with destination market requirements.
  • Establish and oversee product compliance/quality control policies for all own-branded ranges.
  • Establish and oversee ethical sourcing policies for all own branded ranges; and ensure compliance of our suppliers and supply chains.
  • Arrange and oversee product testing and assessment as required.
  • Assist/Advise upon compliant packaging and labelling in-line with relevant requirements
  • Review all samples and packaging during development to ensure compliance.
  • Review final production product and packaging upon arrival to ensure compliance.

Requirements

What You Bring
We’re looking for someone with:
  • Expertise in quality assurance and quality control processes, as well as ethical sourcing requirements and procedures.
  • An excellent understanding of Australia’s product safety regulatory framework, including the Australian
  • Consumer Law and mandatory and industry product standards - a familiarity with art supplies and/or toys and infant products will be highly regarded
  • An understanding of US and EU product safety standards and consumer laws (familiarity with art supplies and/or toys and infant products preferred).
  • Ability to apply above standards to new and existing products and to develop appropriate labelling and packaging accordingly.
  • An understanding of manufacturing and product development, including product testing processes.
  • Attention to detail and strong technical skills.
  • Judgement and ability to assess risk and articulate reasons in support of decisions or approaches.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work across different teams within company and with our suppliers and industry bodies.
