Supply Chain Materials Manager

Position Type: Full-time, Exempt, Salary

Reports to: Materials Director

Supervisory Responsibility: Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse Operations Team

Location: Jacksonville, FL Distribution Center

Summary Objective

The Supply Chain Materials Manager is responsible for leading and managing distribution center operations while ensuring documented processes and procedures for receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment are followed. This role drives operational efficiency, process improvement, inventory accuracy, and material readiness in support of high-volume manufacturing and project operations.

 

Essential Functions 

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve shipping and receiving processes.
  • Build scalable warehouse and material flow processes that support manufacturing and project operations.
  • Drive dock efficiency, staging strategies, and warehouse layout improvements.
  • Lead operational change initiatives that improve material movement throughout the organization.
  • Partner with Procurement, Engineering, Production, and Project Management teams to ensure material readiness.
  • Maintain accurate material transactions within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks impacting production schedules and project delivery.
  • Coordinate transportation planning and shipment scheduling with logistics partners and internal teams.
  • Implement operational reporting for inventory accuracy, receiving performance, and shipment execution.
  • Develop operational metrics focused on efficiency, throughput, and material accuracy.
  • Build and lead a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Location

This position will work out of our Manufacturing Facility in Jacksonville, FL. This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely.

 

Work Environment
Most work is performed in an office environment. Regular trips to SEA Fabrication Shop for observation and research are required. 


Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Travel
Anticipated up to 15% travel for this position. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary. Occasional travel to customer job sites and conferences may be required.

 

Required Education and Experience.

  • Extensive experience in warehouse operations and supply chain management required.
  • Experience working in ERP-driven environments and managing warehouse or logistics operations preferred.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Management, Logistics, or related discipline preferred.
  • 7–12+ years of warehouse, logistics, or material management experience preferred.
  • Experience with LEAN methodologies, Kaizen, value stream mapping, and 5S preferred.
