Position General Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Recruiter plays a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and executing best-in-class recruiting strategies that attract, engage, and hire top-tier, innovative talent across the organization. This position partners closely with hiring managers, certification specialists, HR teams, and leadership to ensure the school district’s staffing needs are met with efficiency, impartiality, and excellence.
This individual serves as a subject matter expert in full-cycle recruitment, driving efforts that promote Florida Virtual School, FlexPoint Education, and Florida Scholars Academy’s reputation as an innovative, forward thinking, and premier employer of choice within the education sector and broader job-seeker community.
Essential Position Functions:
Lead full-cycle recruiting across all levels and departments, flexing between hands-on execution and strategic planning to source, attract, and hire top talent.
Champion a data-driven approach by tracking key recruiting metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with team members to refine and scale hiring workflows.
Act as a candidate experience ambassador throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to define position scope, requirements, and success profiles.
Create and manage tailored interview questions and panel guides aligned with job requirements and compliance.
Guide candidates through a positive interview process, ensuring timely communication, transparency, and professionalism.
Coordinate and participate in virtual and in-person interviews, providing HR support and maintaining interview process integrity.
Proactive sourcing of innovative and passive candidates using creative tactics including social media, professional networks, job boards, colleges/universities, and community partnerships.
Collaborate with the Senior Certification Specialist to ensure candidate eligibility and licensure compliance.
Partner with internal internship and pipeline programs to support long-term staffing needs and talent development.
Utilize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to post jobs, manage candidate flow, communicate status updates, and ensure all hiring activities are documented and compliant.
Review and disposition applications, complete employment and degree verifications, and upload required documentation to candidate profiles.
Provide HR representation in panel interviews; guides interview panel process and uploads panel guides to ATS ensuring best practices and compliance throughout the process.
Ensure that interview panel guides are completed accurately and follow up with panel members as needed.
Assist with the design and deployment of recruitment related policies, procedures, and SOPs.
Serve as a content expert on recruitment tools and processes.
Ensure that applications are fully complete, verifications of employment are conducted, and historical evaluations are uploaded, prior to extending offers.
Partner with Compensation to conduct and justify salary analyses for both instructional and support roles.
Work in collaboration with HR and Operations Support Specialists to ensure all application components are complete and aligned with district requirements.
Implement effective screening and interviewing processes to evaluate candidates' skills, cultural fit, and overall alignment with FLVS' goals.
Active contribution to employer branding efforts by engaging in career fairs, networking events, and professional associations.
Represent the district in community events to promote visibility and reinforce its status as an employer of choice.
Utilize our ATS to organize communication and ensure each candidate has a positive, consistent experience.
Serve as a strategic advisor to hiring managers, providing consultative support on recruitment processes, candidate evaluation, and salary recommendations.
Work proactively with staff in the coaching of career goals and development of resumes.
Develop and maintain a strong talent pipeline by establishing relationships with potential prospects and keeping them engaged throughout the hiring process.
Use judgment in following defined processes and balancing Hiring Authority’s unique needs.
Collaborate on special projects and presentations as assigned to support the Talent Acquisition team and organization needs.

Minimum Requirements:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business, public administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Experience:
Three years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in education, public sector, or high-volume recruitment environments
Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (e.g., Workday) and sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, or equivalent platforms
Proven ability to manage 12+ open roles simultaneously across multiple teams with exceptional organization and follow-through
Excellent communicator with the ability to build trust and credibility with candidates and internal partners at all levels
Knowledge, abilities, and skills:

Able to think strategically, independently, and creatively, and take ownership of critical issues
Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques of human resource administration related to the area of recruitment

Ability to analyze complex administrative and technical issues and make appropriate recommendations for action
Ability to efficiently coordinate multiple projects under the pressure of deadlines
