Role Overview
As the Operations Lead, you’ll oversee assessment operations, workload coordination, team performance, quality assurance, and student support activities across multiple training programs.
You’ll act as the key operational link between assessors, trainers, compliance, student services, and leadership — ensuring assessment outcomes are delivered efficiently, consistently, and in line with Australian RTO standards.
This role combines operations leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, compliance oversight, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and allocate assessment workloads across assessors.
Monitor operational performance, KPIs, and assessment pipelines.
Lead and coach assessors to improve quality and consistency.
Support student engagement and escalation management.
Ensure compliance with RTO standards and assessment requirements.
Participate in validation, moderation, and continuous improvement activities.
Maintain accurate operational reporting and documentation.
Support onboarding and development of trainers and assessors.
Manage operational bottlenecks, urgent requests, and escalations.
Collaborate with delivery, compliance, and instructional design teams.
Support product and resource improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Required Qualifications (Must-Have):
2+ years of leadership, operations coordination, training delivery, assessment, or RTO experience.
TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or successor qualification).
Strong leadership and mentoring capability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience managing competing priorities and operational workloads.
Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with teams.
Strong administration and organizational capability.
Nice-to-Have:
BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent).
Experience within the Australian VET/RTO sector.
Knowledge of Standards for RTOs 2025 and AQF requirements.
Experience with LMS platforms such as Canvas.
Exposure to validation, moderation, and compliance activities.
Experience managing student support and engagement programs.
Resource management or product improvement experience.
Experience interpreting operational reporting and performance data.
