The Distribution Account Specialist primary focus is to drive growth within the collision repair industry by converting new and competitive paint system opportunities through the auto parts distribution channel. This role focuses primarily on Economy and Value segment solutions while supporting Mainstream and Premium opportunities as needed. The position partners closely with Axalta auto parts distribution and collision centers to increase adoption, revenue, and long-term customer retention.
This is a remote-based role, ideally based in Texas, and will require up to 75% travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and convert new paint system opportunities within collision centers, with a strong focus on Economy and Value segment solutions through the auto parts distribution channel
Build and maintain a robust professional network to develop a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities
Demonstrate strong business development and prospecting skills to quickly and effectively acquire new clients
Clearly communicate the features and benefits, color technology, and services
Maintain a structured customer engagement strategy, including a regular call schedule and accurate documentation of all customer interactions in Salesforce (SFDC)
Effectively prioritize activities and contribute to national sales objectives related to revenue growth, profitability, customer retention, and distributor management with a strong sense of urgency
Support standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure customers are aware of available education and training through Axalta Training Programs
Maintain accurate account and contact records within Salesforce (SFDC)
Leverage appropriate technology and tools to optimize productivity and enhance communication with customers and internal stakeholders
Consistently demonstrate safety awareness in all activities
Manage selling expenses within the assigned budget
Job Requirements:
Proven sales professional with Automotive Refinish industry experience and a strong track record of customer support and success
Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in the Automotive Refinish industry
Working knowledge of collision repair shop business fundamentals
Strong understanding of the collision repair market and auto parts distribution environment
Ability to identify customer needs and resolve issues efficiently using a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach
Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
Self-motivated and capable of performing effectively in a highly autonomous environment
Demonstrate professionalism at all organizational levels and consider the impact of actions on customers
Strong team player to actively support national initiatives and broader customer needs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce (SFDC)
Willing and able to travel up to 75% of the time
Valid Driver’s License required
