Kognity

E-Learning / EdTech

The single factor that has the highest impact on the prosperity and well-being of humankind is education. Still, technology has not yet delivered on any of its promises for better learning. At Kognity, we have set out to change this. Our vision is to radically improve learning for the world’s school students. Kognity is the all-in-one, curriculum-aligned teaching and learning platform for Cambridge IGCSE™, the IB Diploma Programme and High School Science. The platform provides interactive textbooks, analytics and assessment support – all in one place. We are experts at combining pedagogy and technology to create comprehensive, engaging, digital-first teaching and learning resources. Kognity saves teachers time, improves learning experiences and empowers students to become independent learners. It all began with two students who wanted to create the dynamic and interactive learning resources they’d always wanted to experience in their own classrooms. Today, teachers and students in over 1000 schools and over 100 countries rely on Kognity.

Job description

Education changes lives. But tech hasn’t lived up to its promise for the more than 1 billion students in school around the world, at least not yet. At Kognity, we’re here to change that.

We’re a 125-person EdTech scale-up powering learning in 140+ countries. Our intelligent platform replaces traditional textbooks and combines rich, interactive pedagogy with smart AI and data to help students and teachers thrive, from international schools to US high schools.

Why join Kognity?

  • Work on problems that matter – Your work directly influences the lives of teachers and students all over the world. The scale is global, and the outcomes are tangible.

  • High ownership, high expectations – You are trusted to take initiative, make decisions and drive outcomes. Responsibility comes early, accountability is real, and results matter.

  • A fast-moving, high-performing team – You will work with smart, driven colleagues across the globe on complex problems. Standards and expectations are high, feedback is direct, and the pace is fast.

  • Continuous growth is the baseline – Everyone is expected and supported to learn quickly, improve constantly and raise their own bar. If you enjoy responsibility, momentum and meaningful challenge, you will thrive here.

Own and elevate the end-to-end product design experience while leading a senior design function that reshapes how we create impactful, AI-driven learning products. This is a rare opportunity to redefine what great design looks like in an AI-first product, with real ownership over both the craft and the system behind it. You will shape how product, design, and technology come together to build user experience - challenging existing paradigms and setting new ones.

What you’ll do:

  • Shape and influence product vision, strategy, and cross-functional decision-making, ensuring design is a core driver in how we build products in the AI era

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of senior product designers, building a high-performing design function that raises the bar on quality and impact

  • Partner closely with Product, Tech, and Pedagogy leadership to define solutions and priorities, ensuring strong alignment between user needs, business goals, and learning outcomes

  • Build and evolve scalable design practices and AI-enabled ways of working, increasing team efficiency, speed, and product quality

  • Own the end-to-end design quality and user experience, focusing efforts on the highest-impact opportunities while defining how UX is measured and contributing hands-on when needed

What we’re looking for:

  • An experienced product design leader with a product-first mindset - able to think beyond design craft, identify high-impact opportunities, and prioritise based on user and business value

  • Deep passion for AI, with a drive to actively explore, challenge, and redefine how AI transforms product development, design roles, and ways of working

  • An entrepreneurial approach, thriving in ambiguity, taking ownership, and driving progress with speed

  • Strong leadership capability, able to challenge, inspire, and elevate a team while fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment

  • Strong communication skills, with genuine curiosity about people and a collaborative, low-ego approach, paired with the confidence to lead both teams and stakeholders

  • We take ownership

  • We leverage AI

  • We drive customer value

  • We are transparent

  • We take care of ourselves and each other

Benefits

  • Yearly budget of 5,000 SEK to spend on health-related services.
