Job description

Omniscient is an organic growth agency that builds revenue-focused organic growth systems for B2B software companies — optimized for both search engines and generative AI.

We pride ourselves on being lean, agile, and experimental. Our team thrives on R&D and innovation, always exploring the smartest ways to deliver exceptional results. We believe in a culture of building and shipping — whether it’s client deliverables, new services, or internal tools that keep us ahead of the game.

If you’re looking for a role where you’ll tackle challenging problems, work with ambitious brands, and help shape the future of organic growth, let’s talk.

Learn about the principles that drive how we work and build a company.

About this role

We're hiring a Team Lead in Organic Growth Strategy: someone who can run a small group of Strategists while still owning their own book of clients. The split is 50/50 by design. Leadership here doesn't graduate you out of the work - it's done alongside it, by people who still ship great work themselves.

Our Strategy function has scaled to the size where leadership needs to sit close to the work. Team Leads are how we keep quality and team health intact as we grow. You'll be one of two reporting into the Director of Organic Growth Strategy, with a small group of Strategists looking to you for coaching, QA, and direction.

This is a hands-on role. You'll still be doing strategy, QA, and client work - just at half the volume so you can develop the people doing the same. If you want a route out of the craft and into pure management, this is the wrong job.

What you'll do

  • Develop a group of Strategists. You'll run bi-weekly 1:1s with each person, give honest feedback on their work and their growth, and coach the skills that separate good strategists from great ones: analytical depth, business judgment, research instincts, and the ability to turn insight into client outcomes. When deadlines slip or quality drops, you have the conversation.

  • Hold the quality bar for your team. You're accountable for what your Strategists ship. That doesn't mean reviewing every output. It means knowing which work is risky enough to need your eyes, which Strategists need closer support right now, and which deliverable types you haven't seen done well yet. Selective QA done well beats blanket review every time.

  • Run your own clients at full strength. Half your week is your own book of accounts. The bar is the same one any senior individual contributor in the function carries: deep client knowledge, sharp strategy, and delivery you can be proud of. Leadership doesn't soften the expectations on your own work.

  • Help build the team. You'll screen and interview candidates for Strategist roles, give clear hiring input, and own the onboarding of new Strategists into your group. The team you inherit is the team you've helped pick.

  • Make the function repeatable. You'll spot the workflow friction that keeps showing up, document what good looks like, and contribute to SOPs that let us scale without diluting the work. When the Director kicks off process work, you're a meaningful part of executing it.

  • Use AI like it matters. AI is a core part of how we produce strategy, not a bolt-on. You'll bring that mindset to your team: building workflows that move faster without losing rigor, and coaching your Strategists on where AI accelerates their thinking versus where their judgment still has to drive the work.

Time breakdown

Roughly how the week shakes out:

  • 50%: Client delivery on your own book

  • 20%: 1:1s, coaching, feedback, and performance conversations

  • 15%: Selective QA and quality oversight across your team's accounts

  • 10%: Hiring, onboarding, and process work

  • 5%: Cross-functional collaboration, internal meetings, and your own development

Who you are

  • You're a senior Strategist ready to lead. Or a leader who still wants their hands on the strategy. The role is built for someone who genuinely wants both, not someone using management as an escape route from the craft.

  • You lead by being direct. You give hard feedback without making it heavier than it needs to be. You follow up on the things you said you'd follow up on. You don't let performance issues drift in the hope they'll resolve themselves.

  • Your strategic instincts are sharp. You read GSC, GA4, Ahrefs, and competitive data and form a clear point of view fast. You understand how organic search ties into the broader business. You can tell the difference between a deliverable that ranks and one that actually moves the business.

  • You hold the line under pressure. You stay organized enough that quality oversight doesn't slip when delivery gets heavy.

  • AI is already part of how you work. You've built it into your workflow, you push your tools further than most, and you bring that energy to the people around you.

  • You care deeply about how people grow. Developing Strategists is the work, not the thing you do between client meetings. The capability of the people you lead matters to you on its own terms.

  • You have high agency. You raise things you see, propose fixes, and don't wait to be asked to make the function better.

What you'll get

The package:

  • Competitive pay + commission

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Quarterly profit share opportunity after one year

  • Medical, dental, and vision for US-based hires

  • 401k with employer match for US-based hires

  • Learning and development budget

  • Monthly networking stipend

  • Annual team retreats and workshops

Beyond the package:

  • A Strategy function with real scale and real influence. What you build into how it operates will shape the team for years.

  • Direct access to the Director and a real say in how the function evolves.

  • A book of ambitious B2B clients that will sharpen your senior strategic instincts in ways pure consulting roles rarely do.
