ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a newly created role to support our growing SEO team. 

As a Web Developer, you will have the opportunity to take full ownership of technical and onsite optimization for SMB client websites. You will lead complex technical projects and have the autonomy to identify and execute impactful technical SEO improvements. This is a role for an experienced web developer seeking to drive technical strategy and mentor junior team members in future.

You have an ability for finding needles in haystacks - you enjoy digging through site code, analytics, and crawl data to uncover small but important optimization opportunities. You can back up your recommendations with clear data-driven insights. You also have strong presentation skills to convey technical analysis directly to clients.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reporting to the Manager(s), the Web Developer will be responsible for crafting and executing an exceptional technical SEO strategy to drive key business outcomes for NP Accel's SMB clients (based in the US), while enhancing their technical SEO expertise and client-facing skills.
• Regularly optimize SEO, implement technical fixes, onsite optimizations and refresh website content for clients, following established SOPs and guidelines.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of our project management tool (Clarity) to effectively oversee and manage all projects.
• This role demands continuous, efficient communication with Account Managers (AMs) and team members within NP Accel to implement recommended technical and on-site fixes, ensuring clear expectations and timelines are established.
• Produce well-documented, reusable, and transferable code that adheres to industry standards, ensuring compatibility across browsers, devices, and operating systems.
• Implement SEO elements, such as titles, descriptions, URL redirects, image alt texts, canonicals, interlinking, and more, as recommended by the SEO team.
• Identify the root causes of low page speed using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights or GTMetrix, and implement the necessary solutions.
• Enhance page speed scores through various optimizations based on audit recommendations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any website issues for both clients and colleagues.
• Keep up to date with the latest SEO principles, software & CMS innovations, trends, and best practices.

ABOUT YOU

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, programming, or web development.
• 3-4 years or more of work experience in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
• Solid understanding of Search Engine Optimization principles and hands-on technical SEO experience
• Proficient in CMS platforms like WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, HubSpot, BigCommerce etc. with more than 3-4 years of work experience.
• Proficiency with technical SEO tools like Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Google Search Console
• Understanding of technical SEO concepts like site architecture, structured data, Core Web Vitals and methods to improve site performance.
• Highly fluent in English, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a dedicated team player. You should be comfortable speaking to clients to explain technical issues to non-technical people
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset
• Depict fast-paced work ethic while ensuring quality. You should have the ability to multitask with strict time constraints, and business goals.
• Agency experience a plus

BONUS POINTS

• Knowledge of localhost for WordPress, Shopify CLI would be a plus
• Understanding of project management tools such as Clarity, and MS Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
