Job description

About the Role

We are looking for an Accounting Associate to join the Accounting Department and support key areas of the financial statement close process.

This role will focus primarily on brokerage revenue activities, including transaction review, revenue and expense recognition, account reconciliations, accounts receivable analysis, and support for monthly close procedures.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and curious about understanding how things work. We are looking for someone who does not simply identify issues but takes ownership, investigates root causes, and helps produce practical solutions.

This is a great opportunity for someone with early accounting experience who wants to grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with exposure to revenue accounting, financial close, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.

What You’ll Do

  • Review revenue and expense recognition for brokerage-related transactions.
  • Support the monthly financial statement close process.
  • Prepare and maintain revenue-related balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Reconcile and investigate outstanding accounts receivable balances.
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Serve as a point of contact for account discrepancies and transaction-related questions.
  • Assist with monthly financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Evaluate accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting procedures to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support accounting-related projects and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors when needed.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure transaction recording accuracy

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, accounts receivable, revenue accounting, or transaction review.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Near-native English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Curiosity to understand how processes work and the drive to identify and solve issues.
  • Positive, collaborative, and proactive attitude.

Nice to Have

  • CPA or CPA eligibility.
  • Big 4 or public accounting experience.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience in real estate, brokerage, marketplace, or transaction-based businesses.
  • Experience supporting internal or external audits.
  • Familiarity with process improvement or internal controls.

Benefits & Conditions

  • Remote work.
  • Company-provided computer/equipment shipment.
  • Contractor agreement through Deel.
  • Flexible schedule, with required availability during EST business hours.
  • 2 weeks of vacation.
  • Local holidays according to the candidate’s country of residence, preferably Argentina or Uruguay.
