Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpentry Instructor to deliver high-quality training aligned with NCCER standards. This part-time role is ideal for a journey-level carpenter who is passionate about developing the next generation of tradespeople. The instructor will provide hands-on and classroom instruction, ensuring students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in carpentry.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver instruction in NCCER carpentry curriculum, including both classroom and hands-on training
Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and practical demonstrations
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
Maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment
Track student progress and maintain required documentation
Reinforce industry best practices, safety standards, and worksite expectations
Qualifications:
5–7 years of journey-level carpentry experience (required)
NCCER certification or willingness to obtain (preferred)
Prior teaching or training experience (preferred)
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and safety protocols
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of learners
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly desirable
