Requirements:

  • Maneuver and set up the mobile MRI unit at designated sites, including delivering, docking, leveling with lift/air bags, stabilizers, awning deployment, and connecting CAT5/phone cables and generator fueling
  • Drive safely, including night driving and long-distance travel, and remain on-site on request to support unit service or patient scheduling
  • Perform routine maintenance on the truck and mobile unit (tires, lift gate, chiller/cold head reset, glycol and fuel levels, humidifier water) and track expenses and receipts
  • Maintain DOT compliance and uphold exemplary driving standards and customer service expectations (logs, annual physical, random drug testing)

Job description

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Mobile MRI Driver to support our growing mobile imaging operations across North Carolina. This role is ideal for a professional commercial driver who takes pride in safety, precision, and customer service, and who enjoys working independently in a dynamic healthcare environment.
 
Position Location: Home-based anywhere in North Carolina, with travel to assigned imaging sites throughout the region.
Responsibilities:
  • Completely proficient in ingress/egress unit maneuvering at designated mobile sites.
  • Set up mobile unit once delivered to location, including:
    o Deliver unit to the assigned area on MR pad
    o Disconnect trailer
    o Utilize lift and/or air bags to level and stabilize unit
    o Set up stabilizers in front and rear of trailer
    o Lift and awning set up
    o Connect CAT 5 and Phone Cords
    o Generator fuel fill-up
  • Requires valid commercial driver’s license.
  • Ability to drive at night and for long distances.
  • Required to remain on site for extended periods, upon request, for unit service or variances in patient schedule.
  • Provide routine maintenance on the truck as well as well as the mobile unit upon request, including but not limited to:
    o Tire maintenance
    o Lift gate maintenance
    o Basic chiller/Cold head resetting
    o Maintain glycolic and fuel levels in the trailer
    o Maintain proper water levels in humidifier system on trailer
  • Dependable and Trustworthy
  • Must keep abreast of the DOT regulations and follow all DOT rules, including:
    o Keeping all required logs
    o Required to have annual DOT physical
    o Subject to random drug testing within 24 hour notice
  • Track all expenses and receipts
  • Exemplary driving record
  • Exceed MedQuest Best Customer Service Expectations
 
Qualifications:

Customer service skills:
o Ability to represent the Center in a professional manner when interacting with the public.
o Ability to make sure the schedule is kept.

o Ability to communicate effectively and positively when contacting the center.

o Ability to function effectively as part of the Region.
o Ability to be flexible with the schedule of pick-ups and deliveries depending on the needs of the centers.
o Maintain focus under pressure
o Share relevant information with other employees
o Volunteer to assist others when time permits


Managing Change:
o Communicate effectively and positively when dealing with fellow employees
o Communicate with Center Manager on a regular basis to keep informed of any updates or ideas.
o Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 

Education:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have Active/Valid Commercial Driver’s License

 

Experience:
• 3 - 5 years of experience driving a tractor/trailer truck.
