Requirements:

  • Build and revise budget grids in Microsoft Excel using formulas, macros, links, and data pulls
  • Draft, review and revise commercial contracts (statements of work, change orders, confidentiality agreements) using standardized templates; negotiate terms with guidance from legal
  • Review and due diligence of contract terms and advise internal business stakeholders on contractual obligations; identify and escalate issues to directors, legal, finance, operations, and IT as needed
  • Support contract management processes including signatures, status tracking, filing and archiving of agreements; maintain accuracy and timelines and assist project teams with contracting matters

Job Title: RCNO1H - Contracts Associate 


Brief Description: United BioSource LLC (UBC) is seeking a highly motivated and talented contracts associate prepared to support UBC’s commercial contracting needs. Experience with a Contract Research Organization or experience supporting transactions in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is preferred. The position will report to UBC’s Director of Contracts.


Specific job duties:

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel to build and revise budget grids utilizing formulas, macros, links, and data pulls.
  • Work cross-functionally with proposals and finance, to manage and update contract budgets and internal budget grids for the life of an active Project.
  • Draft, review and revise commercial contracts (statements of work, change orders , confidentiality agreements) using UBC and Client standardized templates. 
  • With guidance/ playbooks from legal, negotiate, draft, review and revise key commercial contract terms for Client and Vendor agreements utilizing Microsoft Word
  • Review, analyze and due diligence of contract terms and advise internal business stakeholders to operation based contractual obligations. Identify and escalate issues as needed to various internal business stakeholders (director, legal, finance, operations, IT). 
  • Support the contract management processes, including signatures of contracts, status tracking and reporting, filing, and archiving of agreements.
  • Maintain accuracy and quality of contract and budgets, while adhering to timelines, and to be available to Project teams as needed to resolve contracting matters. 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years relevant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Experience in life sciences industry, preferably in the commercial contracting sector
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and database management
  • 5 years relevant experience using formulas, macros, links, data pulls in Microsoft Excel for budget use;
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Self-motivated and proactive in resolving issues, with ability to multi-task and prioritize workload to support rapid growth and a high volume of contracts;
  • Demonstrate financial and analytical skills
  • Adaptive approach and high level of emotional intelligence. 
  • Adherence to established company procedures
