Job Role: Full-stack Developer

Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $3,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. 

Who The Client Is: A fast-growing mobility technology company redefining how people move through cities. Focused on building a scalable platform that connects users with transport while unlocking new commercial models around real-world engagement and outcomes.

Role Overview: We are hiring a hands-on Full-Stack Developer to help rebuild and scale a mobile app that simplifies city travel. This role spans both front-end and back-end development, with a strong emphasis on system quality, scalability, and post-launch reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and validate the existing codebase, identifying gaps and improvements
  • Contribute to the rebuild of the backend and support front-end/mobile architecture decisions
  • Work across a diverse tech stack (Java, Objective-C, Ruby, TypeScript, Python, Kotlin, Swift, etc.), with potential transition to Expo
  • Implement error monitoring, logging, and notification systems
  • Support deployment and post-launch performance, including after-hours coverage when required
  • Collaborate on system design, integrations, and best practices across the stack

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Full-Stack Developer with strong back-end capability
  • Experience refactoring or rebuilding systems for scalability and performance
  • Understanding of mobile app ecosystems (iOS/Android)
  • Experience with APIs, databases, and modern architectures
  • Familiarity with AI development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) is a plus
  • Self-starter with strong ownership and decision-making ability

Context

  • The backend is being rebuilt so the final product is better equipped for scalability
  • The team is exploring Expo to streamline cross-platform updates
  • This role requires a hands-on, accountable developer who can take ownership from rebuild to post-launch support
