Title: CPT-10947 Bookkeeping VA
Independent Contractor – Business Support VA / Junior to Senior Level (Remote).
Overview
20four7VA is seeking offshore independent contractors to deliver remote services to clients worldwide, with a primary focus on developed markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeping Virtual Assistant to support daily accounting operations for a growing home services business.
This role focuses on executing core bookkeeping tasks such as transaction management, receipt tracking, and accounts payable, while ensuring accuracy within QuickBooks. The ideal candidate is comfortable working within existing systems, handling automated transaction flows, and identifying minor inefficiencies for improvement.
This is not a strategic or controller-level role. The primary focus is on consistency, organization, and accurate financial recordkeeping.
The objective of each engagement is to assist the client in improving business efficiency, enhancing service delivery, or supporting operational functions through high-quality, task-specific services rendered by a qualified contractor.
Scope of Services
Contractors will be required to provide services that align with the following client tasks:
Bookkeeping & Transaction Management
- Perform daily bookkeeping and ledger entries in QuickBooks Online
- Review and reconcile automatically imported transactions
- Correct miscategorized or incomplete entries as needed
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across financial records
Accounts Payable & Expense Tracking
- Manage accounts payable processes including:
- Expense categorization
- Bill entries
- Payment entries
- Track and organize receipts, ensuring proper attachment to transactions
- Maintain clean and up-to-date expense records
Month-End & Accounting Support
- Assist with month-end cleanup and preparation
- Support basic accrual accounting tasks:
- Prepaid expenses
- Monthly journal entries
- Prepare records for final review by the client (excluding final reconciliations)
Systems & Process Support
- Work within QuickBooks and the client’s expense management system
- Identify and help resolve discrepancies between systems
- Ensure proper setup and usage of expense tracking tools
- Follow established workflows while recommending efficiency improvements when appropriate
Administrative & Documentation Support
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Create and manage Purchase Orders (preferred)
- Assist with light administrative tasks if bandwidth allows
Each engagement is based on a defined scope of work and is governed by an independent contractor agreement. Services must be performed professionally, with adherence to any timelines, guidelines, and deliverables agreed upon in writing.
Skills
The Contractor must demonstrate proficiency in the following, depending on the Client’s requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong foundational knowledge of bookkeeping principles
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (required)
- Familiarity with expense management tools (e.g., Ramp or similar)
- Experience with receipt tracking and transaction matching workflows
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work with automated financial data and resolve exceptions
- Clear written communication skills in English
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience creating and managing Purchase Orders
- Prior experience supporting small businesses ($1M–$5M revenue range)
- Familiarity with service-based or home services businesses
- Ability to assist with light administrative support beyond bookkeeping

- Expense Management: Ramp or similar platforms (preferred)
- CRM / Operations: Housecall Pro (billing visibility only)
- Productivity Tools: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook (basic to intermediate)
Work Schedule
- Contracted Hours per Week: 15 - 20 Hours
- Scheduled Working Days: Monday through Friday (unless otherwise mutually agreed in writing)
- Daily Working Time: Flexible within standard business hours (EST)
Note: The Company will make reasonable efforts to align the Assigned VA’s schedule with the Client’s preferred hours as set forth above. However, availability may vary based on time zones, capacity, and the contracted hours set in this SOW. Any changes must be mutually agreed to in writing through a revised SOW.
Terms of Engagement
- Contractors will operate under a Master Services Agreement and a Statement of Work
- This is not an offer of employment; contractors are not employees of 20four7VA or any client
- All compensation is processed through 20four7VA according to the terms of the engagement
