You will support the payroll team in completing end-to-end payroll processing across multiple pay cycles, maintaining meticulous employee records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives under deadline pressure, handles sensitive data with discretion, and takes pride in getting the details right every time. While this is a remote role, general working hours include primarily Eastern/Central time zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve payroll cases using the One Source Virtual (OSV) Payroll administration portal.

  • Maintain and update employee payroll related records in the Workday payroll system

  • Apply garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and voluntary deductions

  • Respond to employee paycheck inquiries promptly and professionally

  • Reconcile pre- and post-payroll reports to identify and resolve discrepancies before funds are disbursed

  • Reconcile various earnings and deductions with external vendor systems

  • Troubleshoot payroll issues, with focus on systems and scalability

  • Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and distribution

  • Maintain organized payroll records in compliance with applicable recordkeeping requirements

  • Assist with internal and external audits by retrieving and organizing requested documentation

  • Act as payroll backup, covering team members and assignments as needed

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-employee, multi-state environment

  • Proficiency in payroll software such as ADP, Paychex, Paylocity, Workday, or UKG. Workday experience is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of FLSA, federal and state payroll tax regulations, and garnishment processing rules

  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy and data integrity

  • Ability to handle highly confidential compensation and personal data with discretion

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic formulas

  • Ability to meet firm deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred:

  • FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) from the American Payroll Association

  • Experience processing multi-state payroll

  • Familiarity with HRIS platform integrations

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field

Working Hours / Compensation Range

  • Remote; Full-Time

  • Salary Range $60,000-$85,000 annually depending on skills, education, and location.

What’s In It For You:

  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision)

  • Company-paid life and disability insurance

  • 401(k) with day-one eligibility. We contribute dollar for dollar up to the first 3% of your contributions. Then we match 50% for the next 2% of your contributions.

  • Generous time off: 10 paid holidays and PTO starting at 15 days, growing up to 25
