Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
Carries out the daily operations activities related to Everence annuities, Mennonite Retirement Trust (MRT), and Everence Retirement Services (ERS). 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Collaborate with other staff to carry out day-to-day administrative tasks for retirement plans and annuities (e.g., processing or approving surrenders, maturities, retirement payments, correspondence, and tax reporting).
  2. Understand MRT, annuity and ERS products to assist employers, congregations, participants and advisors in establishing accounts, completing enrollment materials, maintaining accounts and completing forms.
  3. Work with service providers to maintain daily operations.
  4. Coordinate the onboarding of new Everence Retirement Services plans and facilitate communication between advisors and third-party providers to maintain the day-to-day operations of existing Everence Retirement Services plans.
  5. Provide customer service to advisors, employers, and participants.
  6. Collaborate with other staff to produce operational and participant reports.
  7. Develop and maintain expertise in annuities and retirement products.
  8. Assist with compliance activities for all retirement products.
  9. Assist in keeping all administrative forms, manuals, and form letters up to date.
  10. Assist in maintaining all retirement operations systems and procedures.
  11. Complete other projects as assigned by the Director of Retirement Plan Services.


 QUALIFICATIONS

Education
College graduate

Experience
Prior experience in the financial services industry is preferred

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Background in retirement products and operations is desired
  2. Ability to take initiative and work both independently and with others
  3. Leadership ability with attention to detail
  4. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word; an aptitude for learning job-specific software applications
  5. Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to read, understand, and clearly and simply communicate technical information
  6. The ability to handle multiple projects
  7. Strong customer service skills
  8. Either possess or be willing to obtain professional retirement certifications
  9. Alignment in supporting the Everence mission of empowering financial well-being for faith-inspired living
