Senior Data Engineer

Job description

For our client we are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join and strengthen our data engineering team and play a key role in developing scalable, enterprise-level data solutions. This position is highly technical and hands-on, combining deep engineering expertise with architectural thinking and technical leadership.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of modern data platforms, work with Data Lakehouse architectures, and help drive the evolution of a cloud-based data ecosystem built on modern engineering practices.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in data engineering, particularly within large-scale or enterprise environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL along with a strong understanding of analytical and dimensional data modeling techniques.
  • Practical experience with modern data platforms or Data Lakehouse architectures, including concepts such as distributed processing, open table formats, and cloud-based object storage.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services, including tools such as EMR, Glue, Athena, and S3-based data lakes.
  • Strong experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.
  • Strong Python programming skills for building ETL workflows, data transformation processes, and automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain reliable and scalable data pipelines.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and system-level thinking abilities.
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written.

Nice to Have:

Previous experience working with Oracle or Sybase data warehouse environments would be considered an advantage, though it is not mandatory.

  • Formal Interviews: On-site discussions with the hiring manager or project team, with feedback provided within 1-2 weeks.
  • Offer and Onboarding: Successful candidates receive a formal offer and begin a structured onboarding process.
