Job Description: Guidewire Tester

Role Overview

The Guidewire Tester will be responsible for the quality assurance and validation of Guidewire Cloud modules, including PolicyCenter (PC), BillingCenter (BC), ClaimCenter (CC), and Contact Manager (CM). This role ensures that all production bug fixes and new enhancements meet strict quality gates before deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Test Execution

Perform comprehensive functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing for Guidewire modules including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, and Contact Manager.
Validate production bug fixes, enhancements, and configuration changes in Guidewire Cloud environments.
Execute both manual and automated test cases to ensure application stability and business process accuracy.

Quality Assurance

Ensure production defects meet the target of more than 90% First-Time Fix Rate.
Validate that bug fixes do not require reopening or rework after deployment.
Support defect triage, root cause analysis, retesting, and closure activities.

Agile Participation

Work within Agile/Scrum teams operating in 2-week sprint cycles.
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Provide testing status updates during mandatory IST/CST overlap sessions.

Cloud Validation

Validate Guidewire Cloud implementations and ensure compliance with Guidewire Cloud standards.
Verify Edge API migration to Cloud Native architecture.
Ensure rating setup and product configuration for new products are tested accurately.

Documentation

Create and maintain test cases, test scenarios, test data, traceability matrices, and quality validation reports.
Document defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results, and actual results.
Maintain formal QA deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

Regression Testing

Execute automated and manual regression test suites to maintain application stability.
Support release validation activities and smoke testing after deployments.
Ensure no impact on existing functionality during new feature rollouts.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in Guidewire Testing across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, or Contact Manager.
Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and defect management processes.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing.
Familiarity with GUnit and Guidewire Cloud standards.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a One Team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Guidewire Cloud implementations and Cloud Native architecture.
Exposure to Edge APIs and integration testing.
Knowledge of automation frameworks and regression testing tools.
Guidewire Cloud Certification (minimum -1 version) or willingness to obtain certification.
Experience working with distributed teams across IST and CST time zones.
