Job description

This is a remote position.

  • Power BI Development & Visualization
  • Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards using Snowflake as the primary data source
  • Translate business requirements into effective visual analytics (KPIs, scorecards, executive dashboards)
  • Build reusable Power BI datasets, semantic models, and dataflows
  • Apply best practices for UX/UI design, storytelling, and accessibility in Power BI
  • Build BI platform in Azure Fabric Environment
  • Build Self-Serve capabilities using PowerBI and Copilot
  • Semantic Modeling & DAX
  • Develop and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs
  • Implement advanced modeling features:
  • Time intelligence
  • Row-level security (RLS)
  • Calculation groups (preferred)
  • Performance, Security & Governance
  • Optimize Power BI performance through query tuning, aggregation strategies, and model design
  • Implement security best practices (RLS, object-level security, data sensitivity labels)
  • Support Power BI Service administration, workspace management, and deployment pipelines
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise data governance and compliance standards

Required Qualifications/Technical Skills

  • 6+ years of experience in BI / analytics development
  • 4+ years of hands-on Power BI experience
  • Strong experience using Power BI with Databricks


Requirements

Advanced proficiency in:

  • DAX
  • SQL (Snowflake-specific optimizations preferred)
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
  • Experience with Power BI Service (apps, deployment pipelines, refresh strategies)
  • Experience in Semantic model reengineering
  • Experience in integrating Co-Pilot with PowerBI in Azure Fabric environment (nice to have)

Tools & Platforms

  • Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service
  • Databricks
  • Experience with Azure ecosystem is a plus:
  • Azure AD (security, authentication)
  • Azure DevOps (version control, CI/CD)
  • Familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint for executive-level deliverables
