This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing HR systems focusing on Workday Benefits and Absence, by gathering requirements, designing solutions, supporting testing, and implementing system improvements. The position partners with business and technical teams to translate business needs into system solutions, manage projects and enhancements, and maintain system functionality, reporting, and documentation.
This role supports the full lifecycle of HR technology solutions to improve business processes, reporting, and system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Requirements & Business Analysis
Focus: Understanding business needs and translating them into system solutions.
- Develop functional business requirements.
- Determine user needs and translate them into business and system requirements.
- Analyze business and user needs and document requirements.
- Translate business requirements into system requirement specifications.
- Develop detailed system design documentation to support requirements.
- Define Business Intelligence and reporting requirements with business and management teams.
- Ensure technical solutions align with future business growth and operational objectives.
- Serve as liaison between functional areas and technical teams.
2. System Administration & Application Management
Focus: Ongoing ownership and support of HR systems.
- Lead system administration and support for Workday Benefits and Absence.
- Manage development and maintenance of HR application systems.
- Provide support for designated HR application systems.
- Lead enhancements and improvements to HR systems.
- Maintain system functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Maintain awareness of new tools and technologies to improve systems.
3. Project Management
Focus: Planning, resourcing, and delivering projects.
- Identify resources needed and develop project schedules for technology
- Assist business leaders with setting priorities.
- Ensure projects meet deadlines and objectives.
4. Testing, Quality Assurance & Documentation Standards
Focus: Ensuring system changes work and are properly documented.
- Conduct technical reviews and walkthroughs of design documentation.
- Review and critique technical documentation to ensure quality.
- Provide guidance on testing procedures, document standards, and version control.
- Develop Test plan, cases and scripts.
- Complete End to End Testing and support integration testing
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) including staging test cases
- Support system testing for enhancements and changes.
- Ensure quality and reliability of system solutions.
5. Stakeholder Management & Communication
Focus: Working with business leaders and keeping them informed.
- Consult with functional management on project status.
- Maintain communication on project status and priorities by facilitating alignment meetings.
- Develop relationships with business stakeholders.
- Understand business operations and reporting needs.
- Ensure solutions align with business plans and departmental goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT, or related field.
- 5+ years in HR technology roles.
- Workday experience and/or certification specifically in Benefits or Absence
- Strong experience in HR system configuration and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
