Job description

About Impact Investment Exchange (IIX)

IIX (Impact Investment Exchange) is a pioneering impact enterprise dedicated to building a more equitable and sustainable world through innovative financial instruments and market infrastructure. Through its platforms, IIX Values, IIX Intelligence, Impact Partners and IIX Institute, IIX provides organizations across South and Southeast Asia with ESG reporting, impact verification, and intelligence tools that drive measurable change.

About the role

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) serves as the critical bridge between IIX’s platform product owners and the technology team. This role ensures that business requirements are clearly translated into actionable technical specifications, enabling the dev team to build and maintain the IIX Values and IIX Intelligence platforms with precision and alignment to strategic goals.

The BSA works closely with the Technology Manager to manage the requirements pipeline, reduce ambiguity, and keep platform development on track — making this a high-impact role for both product delivery and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Documentation

  • Engage platform product owners and business stakeholders to elicit, capture, and document functional and non-functional requirements
  • Produce clear business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Maintain a living requirements repository, ensuring documentation stays current through platform iterations
  • Map and document business processes, data flows, and system interactions across IIX Values and IIX Intelligence

Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the primary communication channel between product owners, business teams, and the tech team
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, discovery sessions, and regular stakeholder check-ins
  • Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders, and vice versa
  • Proactively flag dependencies, risks, and ambiguities to the Tech Manager and relevant stakeholders

Platform & Systems Knowledge

  • Develop a deep understanding of platforms — IIX Values (ESG self-reporting and verification tools), IIX Intelligence (data and analytics ), Impact Partners, Institute, OBR, etc.
  • Conduct gap analysis between current platform capabilities and desired business outcomes
  • Support integration planning when platform features interact with third-party systems or data sources
  • Contribute to platform roadmap discussions with insights drawn from requirements analysis

Agile Processes

  • Work within an Agile/Scrum framework to support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and story refinement
  • Collaborate with the Tech Manager to prioritize the product backlog based on business value and technical feasibility
  • Participate in sprint reviews and retrospectives, ensuring business requirements are met in each iteration
  • Track and report on requirements delivery, surfacing blockers early

UX & Product Thinking

  • Review platform UX/UI from a user needs perspective, identifying friction points and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with designers or the tech team to ensure product decisions are grounded in user and business requirements
  • Contribute to user acceptance testing (UAT), validating that delivered features meet documented requirements
  • Bring a product mindset to requirements work — thinking beyond features to user outcomes and business value

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven ability to gather, document, and manage requirements in a software product or SaaS environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable facilitating stakeholder sessions

  • Proficiency in requirements documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Notion, Jira, or equivalent)
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail

Preferred

  • Experience with ESG, impact investing, sustainability reporting, or financial services platforms
  • Familiarity with data platforms, APIs, or system integration concepts
