Job description

Tru Inc is seeking a Senior Project Manager.

We have one (1) permanent position available for an immediate start.

Location:

This role is hybrid, providing the flexibility to work from home. However, candidates must reside in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and be prepared to attend in-person meetings as required. Occasional travel to client sites or conferences may also be necessary.

Position Overview:

We want you to join our team and contribute to our continued growth and success!

As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex technology projects for our enterprise clients. You will guide cross-functional teams, manage project timelines and resources, and ensure alignment with client goals and organizational objectives.

This role requires someone with exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a solution-oriented mindset.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Delivery:
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and Statements of Work (SOWs) while remaining process-agnostic (delivering projects using Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid methodologies).
  • Oversee all aspects of the SOW, ensuring clarity and agreement among stakeholders.
  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget, proactively managing risks and dependencies.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including project charters, schedules, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Prepare detailed task tickets in project management tools, ensuring team members are equipped for success.
  • Establish budget and burn reports with regular cadence for tracking financial performance.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and strong relationships.
  • Provide ongoing status updates through meetings, reports, and presentations.
  • Address client inquiries with clarity and technical insight, promoting trust and transparency.
  • Develop and maintain governance structures, including stakeholder mapping, internal/client workflows, and RACI matrices.
  • Support program leadership in conducting governance meetings with senior and executive-level Tru leadership.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Lead cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts across development, design, strategy, and QA to achieve project objectives.
  • Promote a collaborative, solutions-oriented work culture that motivates teams and fosters successful outcomes.
  • Align project delivery with broader organizational goals by collaborating with other project and program managers.
  • Serve as a manager to junior project managers and mentor fellow senior project managers.
Risk Management & Problem Solving:
  • Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent issues like scope creep and delays.
  • Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Decisions) with proactive tracking.
  • Address roadblocks proactively and escalate concerns when necessary to ensure minimal impact on project timelines and sprint plans.
Resource & Budget Management:
  • Collaborate with internal resource managers to allocate appropriate personnel to projects.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency while maintaining high-quality deliverables.

What You’ll Bring:
  • Residency in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with availability for in-person meetings as needed.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in a technology agency, consulting, or digital transformation setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in scoping, pricing, and managing a range of projects, including e-commerce, website development, UX/UI, SEO, PPC, and enterprise DXP platforms.
  • Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms.
Preferred Experience:
  • Background in retail, consumer packaged goods (CPG), finance, or loyalty industries.
  • Experience working with teams across North America and Asia, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Knowledge of enterprise CMS and DXP platforms such as Salesforce, Contentful, and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
