Intern, User Research

Summary: As a User Research Intern at Healthesystems, you will work directly with the Senior UX Researcher to support qualitative and quantitative research efforts across multiple active projects. You will assist with various stages of the research process, including participant coordination, data collection, analysis, and synthesis, helping ensure our products and services are informed by real user needs. 

In this role, you will also help maintain the user research repository, support documentation best practices, and contribute to improving research workflows and operations. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers, gaining hands-on experience with how user research informs product decisions within a healthcare technology organization. 

Key Responsibilities: “To simplify complexities for each customer.”   

1. Assist with qualitative and quantitative user research activities. 
2. Support recruitment and scheduling of research participants. 
3. Help analyze qualitative and quantitative research data. 
4. Monitor user behavior data in Pendo and similar tools. 
5. Assist with preparation of research findings for presentation. 
6. Maintain organized research documentation. 
7. Help create AI assisted research workflows. 
8. Perform additional research support tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications/Education/Certifications:      

Currently enrolled in (or recent graduate of) a diploma/degree in User Experience, User Experience Research, HCI, certificate program, or related field.  Must present portfolio or sample-work project demonstrating research thinking (class projects are acceptable). 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:                  

• Curiosity, creativity, and a passion for human-centered digital experience. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to analyze qualitative or quantitative data and communicate findings clearly.  

• Experience with survey tools. 

• Experience or familiarity in at least two UX research methodologies (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys, contextual inquiry, user analytics, etc.). 

• Strong organizational and communication skills. 

• Familiarity with research tools; Figma and AI a plus.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
