Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer - Remote

Summary: Responsible for developing, implementing, and deploying artificial intelligence (AI) models and systems that solve complex problems as well as utilizing enterprise thinking and guiding enterprise level, strategic solutions. Work will be performed at the intersection of data science, machine learning, and software engineering to build AI applications that can perform tasks such as natural language processing, genAI solutions and predictive analytics. As a Senior level team member, this person will be expected to act as a subject matter expert who guides best practices across the team and provides mentorship and technical leadership to peers at varying levels of experience.

 Key Responsibilities: “To simplify complexities for each customer.” 

1. Model Development: Design, develop, and implement AI models and algorithms to solve complex problems.
2. Data Processing: Clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to be used for training AI models.
3. Algorithm Selection: Select appropriate machine learning algorithms based on the problem being solved.
4. System Integration: Integrate AI models into existing systems or develop new systems to deploy AI solutions.
5. Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize AI models for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
6. Research and Development: Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI and machine learning and apply them to projects. Actively participate in the alignment of departmental goals to enterprise objectives.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, data and software engineers, and other stakeholders to translate ambiguous business problems to develop AI solutions. May act as a SME and help guide best practices on the team as well as mentor more junior members of the team.
8. Documentation: Create detailed documentation for AI models, processes, and systems.
9. Deployment and Monitoring: Deploy AI models into production and monitor their performance over time.
10. Ethical Considerations: Ensure AI models are developed and deployed ethically, considering potential biases and fairness.

Qualifications/Education/Certifications:     

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; plus, minimum of four or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:                

• Proven experience working with Gen AI/ML models and integrating API’s, SDK’s and applications that utilize AI/ML.
• Proven experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) based solutions.
• Demonstrated experience with NLP techniques, Prompt Engineering, and a strong understanding of LLMs.
• Strong programming skills in Python (required), Java (preferred)
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Strong familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; must have the ability to showcase past examples of the use of these skills.
• Knowledge of ethical considerations in AI.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
