Job description

At Mukuru, trust is everything. Every transaction you process, every customer you assist, and every decision you make plays a part in keeping that trust strong. As a Booth Teller, you’re not just handling money you’re safeguarding people’s livelihoods.

You’re on the front line of our business where accuracy meets responsibility. You help ensure that every transaction is secure, compliant, and delivered with care.

What you’ll do

Handle transactions with precision

  • Process remittance transactions quickly, accurately, and professionally
  • Perform KYC checks and verify all documentation
  • Count and verify cash to ensure zero discrepancies
  • Monitor transaction limits in line with regulations

Protect customers and the business

  • Spot and escalate suspicious or unusual transactions
  • Support customers with Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) when required
  • Follow strict compliance and AML processes to reduce risk

Support and guide customers

  • Help customers complete forms and understand services
  • Provide clear, friendly guidance throughout their journey
  • Promote Mukuru services and build customer trust

Keep the environment safe and efficient

  • Perform daily cash-ups and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure the booth is clean, organised, and secure
  • Conduct daily security checks and maintain visitor logs

What you bring

  • Grade 12 (or equivalent)
  • At least 1 year experience in the financial sector
  • Knowledge of foreign currencies, FICA, and compliance processes
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
