Job Description : Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer in our Content Authoring team. This team enables authors to create, manage, and serve the content that goes out to students and teachers.

Technologies in Use
The team is full stack (front end, back end, and infrastructure) so there are a variety of areas where you can contribute – and learn:
• Front End: Angular
• Back End:
o Frameworks: Node / PHP / Golang
o Databases: MySQL / Postgres
o Infrastructure: AWS - ECS/Docker and other services
o Deployment: GitHub actions / Terraform
o Monitoring and Alerting: New Relic / Data Dog / PagerDuty
o Dev Tools: Copilot / Rovo / Atlassian Tools

What can you expect?
● Working closely with developer and product manager teammates, designing and developing applications and services to support business and engineering initiatives
● Sharing your knowledge and practices with other teams, and learning from the knowledge and practices of other teams
● Participating in standup, backlog grooming, demos, and other Scrum meetings.
● Collaborating with engineers on your team on feature development and bug fixes
● Promoting engineering best practices within your team to ensure quality, stability, performance, resiliency, and maintainability of your software
● Being a champion of the customer's voice to ensure our products are built with customer empathy at the forefront

What can you bring to the role?
● Experience and/or training in product or enterprise software development
● Technical abilities/training in testing, monitoring, and performance tuning
● Full stack development and deployment experience
● Passion for engineering best practices
● Focus on application quality and testing practices like unit, integration and e2e testing
● Strong sense of customer empathy and a commitment to delighting customers
● Ability to work across functional and domain boundaries to deliver software on time and with quality
