Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, product design, business, or a related field (MBA or technical discipline preferred).

  • Proven project management ability in fast-paced environments, with strategic thinking and high attention to detail (up to 10% travel).

Requirements:

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, portfolio positioning, and feature prioritization for the dental scanner program; monitor competitive and technology developments; collaborate with IT and Product Innovation to evaluate emerging scanner technologies.
  • Lead a cross-functional team across product, engineering, customer support, procurement and operations; align with Sales on adoption goals, product positioning, and field execution; partner with Education/Training to build onboarding pathways.
  • Drive customer adoption through rapid deployment and well-planned onboarding, support, and user education programs; develop learning modules, tutorials, and best practices; conduct voice-of-customer activities and pilots.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the scanner program from concept to launch, including hardware, software, and integration components; oversee timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, regulatory readiness, and scalable rollout; ensure quality and risk management.

Job description

Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry. We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have several labs throughout the country. Our team is growing, and we are hiring a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity for a Director of Dental Lab Scanner Program.  This is a hybrid/remote position.

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

Product Strategy & Market Awareness

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, portfolio positioning, and feature prioritization for the dental scanner program.
  • Maintain deep awareness of competitive and technology developments in digital scanners and dental CAD/CAM ecosystems.
  • Partner with IT and Product Innovation teams to evaluate emerging scanner technologies and integrate technical insights into product planning. 

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead a cross-functional team across product, engineering, customer support, procurement and operations to bring new scanners to market.
  • Work closely with Sales—not as a manager of Sales—to align on adoption goals, product positioning, customer feedback, and field execution.
  • Partner with the Education/Training team to build robust training pathways that accelerate dentist scanner onboarding and long-term usage. 

Customer Adoption & Experience

  • Ensure rapid and successful deployment and adoption of digital scanners by dentists through well-planned onboarding, support, and user education programs.
  • Work with marketing and education teams to develop learning modules, clinical workflows, tutorials, and best practices.
  • Conduct voice-of-customer activities, site visits, and pilot programs to refine the product and improve user satisfaction. 

Program Management & Execution

  • Manage the full lifecycle of the scanner program from concept through launch, including hardware, software, and integration components.
  • Oversee timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, and cross-functional execution.
  • Ensure high quality, regulatory compliance (where applicable), and readiness for scalable rollout.
  • Enforce stringent discipline in customer selection to maximize the opportunity while minimizing risks.

Business Ownership

  • Support go-to-market planning, positioning, value proposition development, competitive messaging, and pricing recommendations.
  • Track product performance, usage metrics, and customer feedback to inform ongoing product improvements.
  • Represent the program to executive leadership with clear reporting on progress, risks, and growth opportunities.

Minimum Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, product design, business, or a related field required
  • Master’s degree (MBA or technical discipline) preferred

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 10% travel required for this role

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach.
  • Perform tasks at workstations-standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to lift, push, pull, or move up to 25 pounds.
