We were an early entrant among institutional investors in real estate including traditional private real estate (brick-and-mortar assets), public equities, real estate investment trusts, and real estate-related debt instruments.
RE Joint Ventures (JV) Operational Due Diligence
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Real Estate Business Management & Operations team to develop best in class operational due diligence capabilities for the Real Estate business.
What will you do as an VP in this role?
- Drive and oversee the global JV and vendor operational due diligence (ODD) program for the Real Estate business, providing subject-matter expertise and ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide governance, risk management, and operational standards
- Define and enhance the strategic framework for JV ODD, including methodology, risk assessment criteria, and escalation protocols.
- Develop and oversee the development and implementation of monitoring and reporting tools for management, articulating key risks, mitigants and residual exposures from the JV ODD program.
- Appoint and manage third party consultants to support the execution of ODD requirements.
- Establish post investment operational risk monitoring capabilities for JV partners, integrating findings from ODD reviews and working with asset management teams to resolve identified risks.
- Drive strategic projects and ad hoc initiatives as directed by management, contributing to the long-term operational strategy of the business.
What makes you a successful candidate?
- University degree in relevant field (business, accounting, or similar)
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in internal audit, operational risk, operational due diligence, or related functions within Financial Services or Real Estate.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing governance frameworks and operational risk management programs at a regional or global level.
- Detail-oriented with ability to work independently and manage projects
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization.
- Self-starter with high learning agility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging senior management and cross-functional teams.
