BI Analyst Overview
The Reporting, Analytics, and Self-Service (RASS) team at HFSinclair (HFS) is seeking a business-oriented analytics professional with strong Power BI skills. This role is ideal for a Data Analyst with deep Power BI capability or a Power BI Developer with strong data analytics and stakeholder partnership skills. You will work closely with business teams to define metrics, translate reporting needs into actionable dashboards, and communicate insights that drive decisions. Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs/metrics, and translate questions into clear reporting deliverables.
Communicate insights in a way that connects technical outputs to business value and operational impact.
Present findings and recommendations; support adoption through training, documentation, and office-hours-style support.
Power BI Development
Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports using Power Query, DAX, and Power BI Service.
Build and maintain semantic models (star schema / tabular modeling concepts) and ensure metric consistency and data accuracy.
Optimize and troubleshoot reports/models to improve performance and user experience.
Publish, manage, and support Power BI Service assets (workspaces, refreshes, gateways as applicable, permissions/RLS as applicable).
Data Collaboration
Join and model data across multiple source systems (examples may include SAP BW/HANA, SQL sources, PI, Enablon, Track, and other cloud/enterprise platforms).
Collaborate with developers, data engineers, DBAs, and business analysts to resolve data issues and ensure reliable reporting pipelines.
Required Qualifications

Power BI certification (preferred).
