Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Business Analyst to join our team and play a pivotal role in a critical software transition project for our logistics firm. The Business Analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze, document, and translate business requirements into actionable insights that drive the successful transition of our logistics software systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics operations and software projects, with a proven ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.


Responsibilities:


Requirement Elicitation and Analysis:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, software developers, and end-users to gather detailed requirements for the software transition project.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of current business processes, workflows, and system functionalities to identify gaps and areas for improvement.

 

Documentation and Communication:

  • Create comprehensive and clear requirement documents, including business process flows, use cases, and user stories that effectively communicate project needs to technical teams.
  • Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring all parties have a shared understanding of project goals and requirements.

 

Business Process Mapping:

  • Map out existing and proposed business processes to identify potential bottlenecks, redundancies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Identify and document key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to measure the effectiveness of the software transition.

 

Functional Design and Solution Development:

  • Work closely with software developers and architects to translate business requirements into functional specifications, ensuring the software solution aligns with business objectives.
  • Assist in defining user interfaces, system workflows, and data integrations to enhance overall system usability and efficiency.

 

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with QA teams to develop test scenarios and test cases based on documented requirements.
  • Participate in testing efforts, ensuring that the software solution meets business needs and performs reliably.

 

Change Management:

  • Assist in developing change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of the new software system by end-users.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to facilitate a seamless transition to the new system.

 

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and challenges throughout the software transition project and work proactively to mitigate them.
  • Provide recommendations for risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Logistics, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Business Analyst in logistics or supply chain management, with a focus on software transition or implementation projects.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations, industry best practices, and software systems commonly used in the logistics sector.
  • Proficiency in requirement elicitation techniques, process mapping, and business process reengineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience with Agile or similar project management methodologies.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence environments is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA processes.
  • Familiarity with web applications (especially with PHP, JS and MySQL) is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP) is a plus.
