POSITION SUMMARY
Owens & Minor is looking for an experienced Senior Manager – HRIS to lead and drive enterprise-wide HR technology strategy, transformation, and optimization initiatives. This role requires a strategic leader who can also operate hands-on when needed to execute complex HRIS transformation programs, particularly across Workday environments, as well as a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the business
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead the HRIS function, including strategy, roadmap, governance, and delivery.
- Drive large-scale HR transformation initiatives across SAP HCM and Workday platforms.
- Act as a functional and technical subject matter expert in multi-ERP HR ecosystems.
- Partner with HR, IT, Finance, and business leaders to align HR technology with organizational goals.
- Oversee system implementation, upgrades, integrations, data migration, and process optimization.
- Ensure data integrity, compliance, security, and reporting accuracy.
- Manage vendors, system integrators, and third-party consultants.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing HRIS team.
- Provide hands-on execution support during critical project phases (design workshops, configuration validation, UAT, cutover, hypercare).
- Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives across HR processes.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the functional team. Actively manage team workload, task prioritization, and project allocation.
- Mentor and grow the Workday team while keeping them engaged and focused on the Workday project goals.
- Provide effective support and leadership to HR Technology team.
- Through partnership and collaboration with HR COEs, collaborate on organizational wide change management initiatives, programs, and large-scale cross-functional initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic enhancements and improve user experiences by driving best practices related to data integrity and processes.
- Act as a thought leadership partner and subject matter expert for HR Technology projects and initiatives.
- Act as lead and SME for acquisitions; this includes data gathering, mapping, configuration, testing, deployment, etc.

Required knowledge & experience
- Intellectually curious. You have strong analytical skills, proven experience, understanding and effectively implementing Workday integrations across all Workday modules.

- Strong hands-on experience Workday (Core HCM, Reporting; Compensation/Payroll/Talent modules preferred)
- Proven experience leading full-cycle HRIS implementations and transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of HR operations, global HR processes, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing multi-country HRIS landscapes.
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with tactical execution.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
- Strong functional and technical experience in two or more of the following modules within the Workday HCM Suite: HCM Core, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, and Talent & Performance
- 15+ years of experience in Workday and People technology Applications with experience working on large Workday initiatives and managing teams.
- 10+ years of HRIS leadership experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, including Pivot Tables, Macros, V-Look-Up, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in global transformation programs.
- Exposure to HR analytics and reporting frameworks.
- Experience in change management initiatives.
- SAP or Workday certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
