  • Deploy, configure, upgrade, and retire IT systems and equipment; manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and servers; oversee user and computer accounts
  • Implement monitoring tools, security measures, patch management, and ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards
  • Collaborate with engineers and global IT teams to align IT roadmaps and drive a secure, high-performing IT environment

The Role

As a Senior IT Administrator, you will play a key role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing our global IT infrastructure.

You will provide 2nd line support and work closely with the Global Infrastructure team to ensure a secure, stable, and high-performing IT environment across Embla Medical.

This role covers a broad technical scope, including servers, networks, systems, databases, and end-user environments.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the global IT infrastructure on a daily basis

  • Administer and support network environments (LAN/WAN)

  • Support the implementation of IT roadmaps and documentation

  • Deploy, configure, upgrade, and retire IT systems and equipment

  • Ensure the right balance between security and business agility

  • Implement monitoring tools and preventive measures for optimal performance

  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and servers

  • Oversee user and computer account management processes

  • Manage security and distribution groups

  • Support patching and system upgrade processes

  • Collaborate closely with engineers and global IT teams

  • Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards
     

Your Profile

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

  • Microsoft certifications (preferably MCSA / MCSE)
     

Technical Skills

You have experience with:

  • Networking (Meraki, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)

  • Security (firewalls, VPN, NAT)

  • Microsoft Windows Server

  • Active Directory & Group Policies

  • Office 365 and Remote Desktop Services

  • Scripting and end-user hardware
     

Business & Soft Skills

  • Strong understanding of how IT supports business operations

  • Ability to prioritize based on business impact

  • Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical)

  • Team-oriented with a global mindset

  • Flexible and willing to work outside standard hours when needed
