Job description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to support day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience, preferably within an accounting firm environment, and demonstrates strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online, reconciliations, and month‑end close processes. This role requires excellent analytical skills, discretion when handling confidential financial data, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate, complete, and up‑to‑date financial records.
• Record and process daily transactions, including expenses, payments, and journal entries.
• Prepare, reconcile, and review general ledger accounts and financial statements.
• Manage payroll calculations, invoicing, vendor payments, and accounts payable/receivable.
• Ensure compliance with tax requirements and assist with tax filings and supporting documentation.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and preparation of financial and management reports.
• Communicate financial information clearly and timely with internal stakeholders (Spanish and English preferred).
• Support internal or external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 1–2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance‑related roles.
• Mandatory proficiency in QuickBooks Online.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and basic financial regulations.
• Previous experience working in an accounting firm (highly preferred).
• Excellent reconciliation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Proven ability to manage confidential financial information responsibly.
• Experience with additional accounting tools (e.g., Xero, Excel).
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish and English) is a strong plus.
• Optional: Accounting certifications or industry‑specific experience.
• Valid visa required and availability to travel to Puerto Rico.
