SUMMARY
The Level 2–3 Systems Engineer is a multi-disciplinary role covering servers, networking, cloud technologies, security, and end-user computing. This position requires strong ownership, technical leadership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate is technically confident, highly organized, and capable of serving as the primary engineer across multiple active projects while acting as an escalation point for the Help Desk or NOC team. This role is suited for someone who thrives in evolving environments and is motivated to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as the primary engineer for multiple projects, managing workload and priorities effectively.
• Act as an escalation point for Level 1/2 support teams, providing advanced troubleshooting and resolution.
• Design, implement, and support IT infrastructure across servers, networking, cloud, and end-user environments.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
• Manage identity and access systems including Active Directory and cloud-based identity platforms (Azure AD / Entra ID).
• Support and administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
• Deploy and manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS).
• Manage storage solutions, file services, and backup/recovery systems.
• Configure and support network infrastructure including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, and routing.
• Implement and maintain security controls including encryption, endpoint protection, and certificate management.
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup strategies.
• Provide support for remote access technologies such as VPN, ZTNA/SASE, and virtual desktop environments (RDS, VDI, Citrix).
• Assist in unified communications and VoIP systems including SIP and Microsoft Teams Phone integrations.
• Document system configurations, processes, and issue resolutions.
• Continuously improve processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Systems Engineering, IT Support, or similar roles.
• Strong understanding of:
o Windows Server and desktop environments
o Microsoft 365 and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS fundamentals)
o Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
o Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
o Security concepts including encryption, endpoint protection, and access control
• Familiarity with macOS and Linux administration.
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam or similar).
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• VMware Certifications (VCA or VCP)
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+
• Other relevant Microsoft, cloud, or infrastructure certifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement.
• Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
