Computer Operator

Oxford Solutions is working with a retail client to hire a Junior Computer Operator for a fully remote contract role.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their IT career to gain hands-on experience in production support and system operations.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and execute scheduled jobs and automated processes
• Respond to system alerts and troubleshoot routine issues using established procedures
• Escalate incidents when needed and document all actions in ITSM tools
• Support basic service requests and meet defined service levels
• Follow change control processes and assist with low-risk updates
• Use scheduling tools, ticketing systems, and internal documentation to support operations
• Contribute to process improvements and ongoing operational efficiency

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of IT operations, computer operations, or technical support experience
• Experience with job schedulers (Control-M or similar)
• Exposure to AS/400 (iSeries) environments
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools
• Basic understanding of ITIL or IT service management concepts
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

Education:

Associate degree, certification, or equivalent experience in IT or related field
