Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Business or a related field and five years IT experience or an equivalent combination.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • Preferred: expert-level proficiency in .NET and C#, expert-level proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, and experience with jQuery in modern web applications; practical experience using Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD, and work management; practical experience in an Agile environment.

Requirements:

  • Develop and maintain .NET and ColdFusion systems; design and develop test cases; troubleshoot software production issues; produce technical documentation.
  • Analyze and monitor existing systems to provide recommendations for improvement; design SQL and Oracle databases and coordinate with database administrators to implement them into production environments.
  • Follow modern Agile Software Development Lifecycle processes and DevSecOps practices; collaborate with Infrastructure and Cybersecurity; work with customers, project managers, and other developers to deliver effective solutions.
  • Assist with requirements gathering and work scope estimates; provide recommendations for continuous improvements; interface with project managers and customer subject matter experts as needed.

Job description

Position Overview

This Software Engineer position will be part of a strong team providing software engineering support to design, develop, operate and maintain software programs across multiple platforms, technologies and business units. Software engineering support also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and implementation functions. Responsibilities will include the production of new systems and web applications, as well as support of legacy systems.


Major Activities (Typical Duties/Responsibilities)

  • Develop and maintain .NET systems.
  • Develop and maintain ColdFusion systems.
  • Develop technical documentation.
  • Analyze and monitor existing systems to provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Design SQL and Oracle databases and work closely with database administrators to implement them into production environments.
  • Understand and follow modern agile Software Development Lifecycle processes & procedures.
  • Work with and follow best practices in a Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) environment, in close collaboration with Infrastructure and Cybersecurity colleagues.
  • Work closely with customers, project managers, and other developers to understand the user’s needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Design and develop test cases.
  • Troubleshoot software production issues.
  • Assist with requirements gathering projects on enterprise-wide solutions.
  • Assist with work scope estimates.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvements.
  • The software engineer will work with other project software engineers, interface with project managers, and meet with customer subject matter experts as needed.

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and industry-standard computer software and databases.
  • High degree of sensitivity regarding confidential information.


Physical Abilities

  • Sufficient fine motor skills for the use of computers, calculators with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time.
  • Visual and communications ability adequate to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to kneel, bend and twist at the waist on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to reach below shoulder height with regular frequency (desk position) and at or above shoulder height on occasion.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds on a regular basis, and greater weights on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to travel by vehicle or aircraft, and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expert-level proficiency in .NET and C#.

  • Practical experience in an Agile environment.


Pay Range: $99,873.00-$164,534.00/ yearly
