Data Systems Engineer (AVEVA PI / OT Integration)

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Systems Engineer (AVEVA PI / OT Integration) position for our client.

Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months

Duties:

• Design, implement, and maintain data integration solutions between Operational Technology (OT) systems and IT platforms
• Configure and support AVEVA PI System components including PI Interfaces, Connectors, and Integrators
• Integrate real-time and historical data from industrial control systems (e.g., power plant systems such as Ovation) into enterprise data environments
• Develop and manage data flows across OT and IT ecosystems, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and security
• Design web-based and cloud-enabled applications that may operate across multiple platforms and software packages
• Ensure performance, scalability, and availability of data systems and associated applications
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain operational continuity
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, IT, and operations to support system integration initiatives
• Maintain documentation for system architecture, data flows, and integration processes
• Support compliance with cybersecurity and data governance standards within OT environments

Skills:

• Strong expertise with AVEVA PI System (PI Interfaces, Connectors, Integrators)
• Experience working within Operational Technology (OT) environments, particularly power generation or industrial control systems (e.g., Ovation)
• Proficiency in industrial communication protocols such as OPC, Modbus, and DNP
• Solid understanding of system integrations and data flows across IT and OT environments
• Experience designing and supporting cloud-based and web-based applications
• Knowledge of system performance tuning, scalability, and high availability architectures
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with distributed teams

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in data systems engineering, industrial data integration, or related roles
• Hands-on experience with AVEVA PI System in production environments
• Proven experience integrating OT systems with enterprise IT platforms
• Experience working in energy, utilities, or industrial manufacturing environments preferred
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern data architectures is a plus

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $105,000 to $115,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
