Roles & Responsibilities

  • Led and grown engineering teams with coaching and development of engineers
  • Able to translate strategy into execution with a clear technical direction and measurable outcomes
  • Comfortable operating business-critical, cloud-native systems with emphasis on reliability and operational excellence
  • Proficient in modern backend development (Node.js/NestJS), microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), GitOps (ArgoCD), AWS, messaging and email delivery, CI/CD (GitHub), and observability tooling

Requirements:

  • Own and lead the Messaging Platform across products, building and evolving a multi-channel messaging backbone while abstracting provider-specific complexity away from product teams
  • Ensure messaging is reliable, scalable, and compliant by default as volume and channels grow, and reduce delivery and operational complexity via clear abstractions and reusable platform services
  • Translate company and engineering strategy into an outcome-driven roadmap, balancing reliability, scalability, compliance and new capabilities, and drive operational excellence through monitoring and incident response
  • Foster strong partnerships with Product and other Platform teams to maximize impact across the organization and treat experience squads as customers

Here's how you'll make a difference:

  • Own and lead SoSafe’s business-critical Messaging Platform, responsible for outbound communication across all products

  • Build and evolve a shared, multi-channel messaging backbone, abstracting provider-specific complexity and delivery mechanics away from product teams

  • Ensure messaging remains reliable, scalable and compliant by default - even as volume, channels and business requirements grow

  • Translate company and engineering strategy into a clear, outcome-driven roadmap, balancing reliability, scalability, compliance and new capabilities

  • Reduce delivery and operational complexity for experience squads by providing clear abstractions and reliable platform services

  • Drive operational excellence through improved monitoring, incident response and continuous improvement

  • Build strong partnerships with Product and other Platform teams to maximize impact across the organization

You’re familiar with - or excited to work with - the following areas:

  • Modern backend development, primarily with Node.js (NestJS) in a microservice-based architecture

  • Containerized and cloud-native systems, including Docker, Kubernetes, and GitOps-style deployments with ArgoCD

  • Version control and CI/CD workflows built around GitHub and automated delivery pipelines

  • Cloud infrastructure on AWS, operating and scaling business-critical services

  • Messaging and email delivery systems, including AWS SES, SMTP-based delivery, and Postfix

  • Developer tooling and operational observability, using tools like Cursor IDE, LaunchDarkly, and Sentry
