What you'll do...:
As a Regional Director at H&R Block, you will play a pivotal role in driving client growth and increasing company profitability by leading assigned district management across a specified region (approximately 12 districts / 340 offices across the Mid-Atlantic region). Your responsibilities will include managing operations, developing business strategies, and increasing profitability within the assigned geographic area. We are seeking a strategic and visionary leader with strong business acumen, experience in strategic planning, effective team management and development, and transformative and bold leadership skills.
Day to day, you’ll…
- Drive results for all activities that lead to company growth, including associate hiring, associate development, workforce planning and client satisfaction and retention; ensure goals and targets are met within assigned geography and provide leadership to district general managers and team members
- Coach, develop, and mentor district general managers; evaluate district general manager performance consistent with H&R Block talent routines including quarterly, mid-year, and end of year conversations
- Travel to district offices to ensure consistent application and interpretation of standard operating procedures; identify and implement solutions for a consistent business approach while remaining sensitive to the individual business needs of each office
- Incorporate bold thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and obstacles
- Attend and represent H&R Block at various district events and motivate associates to understand and apply the company’s purpose
- Participate in strategic planning along with other field leaders to ensure the direction of the business is appropriate and positioned to achieve its goals and objectives
- Review business results and recommend solutions to improve performance of assigned districts; recommend solutions to further advance company goals
What you'll bring to the team...:
- A minimum of 10 years of related work experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
- Understanding of the dynamics of franchise owner/company owned environment
- Ability to make independent decisions; assume complete responsibility for his/her work and decisions
- Experience in developing and executing short-term and long-range strategic plans
- Experience in a retail or similar work environment is required, multi-unit is a plus
- Effective math and analytical skills
- P&L ownership, including the ability to increase profitability and to develop, analyze, and manage budgets
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills, public relations skills, and detail-oriented
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop associates
- Knowledge of district and/or regional operations sufficient to select, train, and direct the activities of the district and regional office staff and to make effective operating decisions
- Four years as a district manager or equivalent

Pay Range Information:
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
Pay Range:
$132,200.00 - $224,700.00/Yr.
