Job Role: Credit Analyst (AUS Mortgage Broking)

Compensation Range: AUD 2200-3000 per month

Engagement type: Employee of Record

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

An established Australian finance brokerage providing a broad range of lending solutions to clients nationwide.


Role Overview: 

We are looking for a full-time Credit Analyst / Loan Writer to join our team. This role suits an experienced and confident credit professional who can independently manage their assigned files from assessment through to approval, with minimal escalation. You will work within established systems, software, and support structures, allowing you to focus on credit assessment, deal structuring, and execution. While support is always available, this role is designed for someone who is comfortable making day-to-day credit decisions and progressing files without constant oversight. The role reports directly to the Director, with KPIs set and monitored by the Operations Manager. You will work closely with our customer service and lodgements teams to ensure files move efficiently through the process. There is no requirement to generate your own leads. A consistent flow of quality leads is provided. This role is ideal for someone with solid experience across PAYG and self-employed clients, who is practical, solutions-focused, and confident working independently within clear guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing loan applications for both PAYG and self-employed clients, and structuring deals to achieve the best possible outcomes in conjunction with BID 
  • Managing assigned files from assessment through to approval, ensuring high-quality and compliant submissions 
  • Reviewing lodgement applications prior to submission to ensure accuracy, completeness, and lender policy alignment 
  • Assisting with approval conditions and post-submission requirements where required to progress files efficiently
  •  Working closely with the customer service and lodgements teams to meet agreed timeframes and maintain a strong client experience 
  • Proactively problem-solving complex or non-standard scenarios, with escalation used only where genuinely required 
  • Achieving weekly and quarterly performance targets, in line with KPIs set and tracked by the Operations Manager

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  •   3-5 years’ experience in credit assessment within a brokerage or banking environment (mandatory) 
  • Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking (or equivalent)
  •  Strong experience assessing both PAYG and self-employed clients 
  • Confident managing assigned files independently, with minimal escalation 
  • Working knowledge of BrokerEngine, Quicklii, Flex, and AOL (or similar brokerage systems) 
  • Proven ability to work to weekly and quarterly KPIs 
  • Strong understanding of lender policies and credit assessment requirements Practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving 
  • High attention to detail and commitment to file quality and compliance 
  • Willingness to continuously improve, with a genuine eagerness to learn and develop 
  • Clear, professional communication skills when working with internal teams and lenders
