What You'll do:
Groundswell is seeking a Workday Data Conversion Consultant to support the end-to-end data migration lifecycle for Workday implementations within the federal government environment.
This client-facing role is responsible for supporting the planning, coordinating, and execution of data conversion strategies while ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with government standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, hands-on Workday experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with federal stakeholders, system integrators, and internal teams.
What You’ll do:
Support the end-to-end data conversion process for Workday implementations, including data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), validation, and reconciliation
Collaborate with client stakeholders, technical teams, and Workday consultants to define data requirements and conversion strategies
Participate in the development of detailed data mapping, conversion plans, and schedules aligned with project timelines and federal requirements
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with all federal regulations throughout the conversion process
Identify, analyze, and resolve data-related issues, risks, and discrepancies, implementing corrective actions as needed
Document data conversion processes, mapping specifications, and validation results for audit and compliance purposes
Support testing phases (unit, system integration, user acceptance) by preparing and validating test data sets
Collaborate with data conversion team members, contributing to best practices and supporting knowledge sharing
Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and solutions to project team members and escalate key issues as needed
Required Experience/Qualifications:
US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance per contract requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Workday Data Conversion Certification (Additional Certifications are a plus)
3+ years of related HRIS experience to include data conversion, data migration, or data integration roles, with at least 1 year supporting Workday or similar ERP/HCM deployments
Strong understanding of data mapping, ETL processes, and data quality assurance
Experience with Workday Data Conversion tools and methodologies
Proficiency with data conversion tools, SQL, and data analysis techniques
Demonstrated experience in consulting, supporting client relationships, collaborating within team environments, and engaging with stakeholders
Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Experience with secure data handling and compliance with federal data security standards
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Experience/Skills:
Experience working with federal clients
Familiarity with NIST security controls and federal compliance frameworks
Familiarity with federal HR, payroll, or finance systems
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices related to data handling and transmission in government environments.

The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Groundswell, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
$80,500.00 - $160,927.00
