Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance; must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Strong knowledge of IFS and ERP systems; experience with procurement bid processes, cost/schedule management, and supplier performance reporting.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and operate in a remote/telework environment; proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Requirements:

  • Leads procurement process for manufacturing and ensures suppliers meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Prepares reports on supplier performance (quality, schedule, cost) for management review and manages material-related financial commitments; develops yearly and quarterly plans with Material Planning, CAMs and DPMOs.
  • Identifies critical suppliers, develops strong relationships with their leadership, leads supplier meetings with agendas and action items, and manages supplier risks with mitigation plans.
  • Leads procurement bids for labor and material in business area proposals, supports FMRs up to VP level, and writes BOEs to support proposals; collaborates with bidding/estimating for material value.

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Acting as a team lead, the Senior Advanced Manufacturing Planning Specialist will manage all aspects of production and material support on multiple programs, or one large, very complex program. We’ll rely on you to identify costs and bidding/estimating strategies ensuring all cost/schedule risks are clearly identified and understood by management, as well as assist in detailed proposal analysis with proposal management team. You’ll routinely interface with supply chain and suppliers on primary strategies for negotiation and/or problem resolution.

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

  • Leads procurement process for manufacturing and is accountable for suppliers’ performance in meeting quality/schedule/cost needs.
  • Prepares reports on supplier performance & key metrics in quality/schedule/cost for management review
  • Responsible for business area financial commitments related to material sales
    • Yearly and Quarterly plans are developed working with Material Planning, CAMs and DPMOs
  • Understands who critical suppliers are to the programs and develops strong relationships with their leadership
  • Leading supplier meetings by developing agendas, meeting minutes and action items
  • Identify and manage supplier risks and issues and develop mitigation plans.
  • Leads cross-functional teams and serves as a liaison between programs team, functional areas, and suppliers
  • Responsible for procurement bid (Labor and Material) for business area proposals, supporting FMRs up to VP level
  • Interacts with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues and works with management to address all aspects of procurement management
  • Works with SCM buyers for purchase orders, quotes, & on time delivery
  • Supports supplier audits and evaluations.
  • Prepare and hold material procurement kickoff meetings
  • Understands & manages cost of material procured. Sets target pricing for buyers within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system IFS.
  • Leads and supports material requests for proposals. Works with bidding and estimating for material value, quotes, and any information required for proposals. Writes BOEs to support proposals

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of IFS
  • Strong understanding of GDMS business policies and procedures
  • Requires intense concentration to assure accurate completion of technical assignments
  • Requires multi-tasking abilities without losing focus to complete priority assignments
  • Requires the ability to research technical problems and summarize technical information as it applies to the given task
  • Requires the ability to plan, schedule and execute work
  • Grasps and applies new information quickly; handles more complex assignments
  • Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little direction
  • Mentors others on the team
  • Fully proficient ability to present technical information to peers using written and verbal approaches
  • Fully proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • EVMS Certification may be required
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled. Combined Salary Range: USD $107,330.00 - USD $116,135.00 /Yr. Company Overview:
