Job description

Overview:

The Driver Services Specialist is a Driver advocate tasked to deliver exceptional customer service to our driver population during breakdown, accident, and other situations.  In this fast paced logistics environment you will rely on your overall maintenance and transportation knowledge to quickly identify the problem to get the driver and truck safely back on the road, as quickly and efficiently as possible.  This position reports to the Driver Service Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Answer phones in a high volume call center in timely, efficient, customer friendly manner.
  • Must anticipate and recognize safety issues, define their causes, determine a solution and execute the solution on a timely basis.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to best determine how issue can be resolved, coordinating with Operations/Risk Departments as necessary.
  • Clearly communicate in terms that are easily understood by both internal and external driver/customers.
  • Demonstrate extreme patience in dealing with volatile situations and adhere flawless follow-up procedures
  • Maintain Accident, OS&D, MedCor, Safety, Security reports.
  • Monitors all solar field cameras.
  • Answers all Fire and Security alarms and calls for NFI real estate.
  • Answers all after Hours Company calls.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in maintenance / transportation role
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance, including general truck repair / maintenance, electrical systems and general troubleshooting abilities.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and innovative thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently be a self-starter in planning, initiating and completing assignments.
  • Ability to comprehend computer skills, as well as regional geography.
  • Applies sound judgment regarding efficient resolution of issues
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a department where priorities are constantly changing
  • Action-oriented, with a sense of urgency and responsiveness in solving problems and meeting business needs
  • Computer applications using MS Office
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

 

Other:

 

  • Availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and potentially holidays as needed by the customer

We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $23.64 HOUR OR $31.52 HOUR, based on the national average for the position. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay.
