The Role

As a Field Expert Mentor, you'll guide individual students through original, field-based projects from ideation to completion. Projects range from research and prototypes to community campaigns and creative portfolios, structured across five levels of difficulty to meet each student where they are.

Who We're Looking For

• A working professional with a degree from a Top 30 U.S. university (strongly preferred)

• At least 3 years of active, hands-on experience in your field — we're looking for practitioners who are genuinely immersed in their work, not just familiar with it. Candidates who have recently transitioned out of the field may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

• Deep expertise in one or more of our program fields: Life Sciences & Biotech, Environmental & Earth Sciences, Engineering & Innovation, Computer Science & AI, Business & Entrepreneurship, Law & Government, Psychology & Social Sciences, Creative Arts & Design, Media & Communication, or Literature & Writing.

• Experience managing projects or guiding others through a structured process

• Genuine enthusiasm for working with young people and supporting their development

Time Commitment

• Approximately 5-10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling

• You choose which students to work with

• Mentors commit to supporting students through to project completion

Compensation

Compensation reflects your professional background, expertise, and educational experience. You are paid for live session time, which includes the session itself plus preparation, session summary, and any follow-up research.
