Roles & Responsibilities

  • A valid law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive legal experience with substantial hands-on involvement in the iGaming industry.
  • Deep understanding of global gaming laws, regulations, and offshore regulatory frameworks (mandatory).
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and manage legal teams across multi-jurisdictional matters.

Requirements:

  • Take full ownership of establishing, structuring, and leading the company’s internal legal department; serve as a key advisor to the co-founders and executive team on corporate strategy, risk management, and strategic initiatives.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate legal and operational risks; develop and implement robust internal policies and procedures to safeguard the business.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure licensing and reporting requirements are met, with a focus on Curacao, Anjouan, and Tobique.
  • Oversee drafting, review, and negotiation of all commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and critical legal documents; manage and oversee litigation, arbitration, or regulatory proceedings; collaborate with external law firms as needed.

Job description

Location: Hybrid - Malta (3 days per week in office) or Remote from Europe
Reporting to Co-Founders

Your mission
  • Take full ownership of establishing, structuring, and leading the company’s internal legal department.

  • Serve as a key advisor to the co-founders and executive team on corporate strategy, risk management, and strategic initiatives.

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate legal and operational risks. Develop and implement robust internal policies and procedures to safeguard the business.

  • Manage relationships with key regulatory bodies and ensure all licensing and reporting requirements are strictly met, with a primary focus on jurisdictions including Curacao, Anjouan, and Tobique.

  • Ensure comprehensive compliance with all relevant international laws, regulations, and iGaming industry standards.

  • Track and analyze changes in global gaming legislation, providing actionable guidance to the business on potential impacts.

  • Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of all commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and critical legal documents, ensuring they are legally sound and aligned with our best interests.

  • Manage and oversee any litigation, arbitration, regulatory hearings, or alternative dispute resolution processes involving the company.

  • Select, manage, and collaborate effectively with external law firms globally to develop cost-effective strategies for minimizing legal risks.

What You Bring

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically, balance business needs with legal risks, and make highly informed decisions.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation abilities; capable of translating complex legal jargon into clear, actionable business advice.
