  • Schedule introductory appointments in person or by phone, penetrate vertical markets across specific market segments and regions, and ethically represent the company.

The Business Development Manager will join our talented group of inside sales professionals to help our business continue growing! Using your expert insides sales skills, you will effectively market St. Onge Company’s subject matter expertise as a leader in supply chain and logistics engineer consulting. You will create and build client relationships with key stakeholders (VP and C-Suite level) while sponsoring interaction to obtain projects. Your target clients will primarily be leaders in the Food & Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, Retail, eCommerce, Life Sciences, Healthcare Retail/Wholesale, Military & Government, Industrial, and Automotive Parts Distribution verticals. 


Experience Requirement:

  • 8-10 years of inside sales, selling professional services. Experience in supply chain and material handling is ideal.
  • Understanding of supply chain and material handling technology
  • Strong relationship building and social skills
  • Ability to build and manage a strategic network that is internal and external to our industry
  • Effective communication skills through phone, email, and in person
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to think, plan and execute effective penetration of vertical markets, prospective accounts and upper management


Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, science, or other related disciplines is preferred but equivalent experience is acceptable.


Computer Skills:

  • High level of proficiency with MS Office software, especially MS Word and Excel


Key Responsibilities:

  • MUST have experience in selling supply chain and material handling solutions with a proven track record of influencing and persuading to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Ability to think, plan, and execute effective penetration of vertical markets, prospective accounts and upper management
  • Effective communication skills through phone, email, and in person.
  • Pursue companies with revenues over $200 Million
  • Identify and research target companies and industry verticals

  • Target and develop new business for specific market segments and geographical regions
  • Schedule introductory appointments in person or by telephone
  • Identify, establish and develop key executive and upper management relationships
  • Highest priority to ethically and honestly represent St. Onge Company


Work Environment:

Primarily a controlled office environment with visit to client production facilities and warehouses. Client sites could consist of warehouse/distribution operations, manufacturing operations, and conditions may vary. Extensive travel may be required at times based on project requirements which may vary from project to project. Overnight travel could be required via various modes of transportation, including automobiles, planes, and buses. 

Physical Demands:

St Onge Company operates both hybrid and remote office options. Client sites could consist of warehouse/distribution operations, manufacturing operations, and conditions may vary. Projects may entail lifting materials up to 25 pounds. 


Travel Requirements:

Travel typically ranges from 10-15% annually, with increased travel during trade show seasons. Travel may include local car travel, regional train travel, or domestic and international air travel.
